May 2016 - I Have Known Mountains has been doing great on radio. Up to #23 on Billboards smooth jazz radio chart and #44 on Jazz Week chart. There’s also been some great press!
Dec 2015 - Of course the latest news is the release of my 5th CD “I Have Known Mountains.” It’s available in iTunes, Amazon, and various other digital distribution systems. And will soon be available in CD format.
Tom Brechtlein is on drums, Joe Gilman is on piano. Both Josh Thurston-Milgrom (acoustic) and Rob Lemas )electric) are on bass. Dominic Garcia is on percussion. I even sing, kind of, on one song. We had A wonderful vocalist on one track, but unfortunately there was not enough time on the CD, unless I was going to do a double CD. And believe me, I toyed with the idea!
Tracking engineer was Rich Ayres at River City Recorders. Additional tracking was at my own Studio Bohemia. I mixed and mastered it there too. I did it all by myself!
2013 - The Henry Robinett Group has been in and out of the studio preparing for music for their next CD. There's enough material for 2 and more CDs I'd like to have released. Also there are plans to record a couple of straight ahead jazz CDs of standards and original material.
I'm very excited that drum great Tom Brechtlein has signed up to record our next CD, which happened August 21 and 22 in Sacramento! He's a very great musician who has played with everyone from Chick Corea, Wayne Shorter and was in Robben Fords band for many years. Currently he's playing with Kenny Loggins.
We have my musical compatriot, for many, many years, Joe Gilman joining us on piano. He was part of the band from near the beginning and played with us for almost 7 years. And we continued playing forever with The Capital Jazz Project as well as other random gigs and collaborations through the years.
And then we have Joshua Thurston-Milgrom on upright and electric bass. I'm very excited to be playing with him.
Also the wonderful Jacosa Limutau is singing Samuel, and old song of mine many people have been begging me to record for years.
I'm so excited to be playing with all of them together. Playing MY music! How cool is that?
